Less than a week after the untimely passing of Bennington, who died last week after an apparent suicide, the singer’s longtime band penned a letter that shares their collective “grief and denial.” Bennington died by hanging at his home in Los Angeles on July 20. He was 41.

“You touched so many lives, maybe even more than you realized. In the past few days, we’ve seen an outpouring of love and support, both public and private, from around the world. Talinda and the family appreciate it, and want the world to know that you were the best husband, son, and father; the family will never be whole without you,”

In the aftermath of Bennington’s death, Linkin Park canceled their One More Light World Tour, along with a planned co-headlining trek with Bling 182, and launched a website dedicated to the singer with contact information for suicide prevention groups included.
